The Harper Research Group
Mechanistic and Physical Organic Chemistry
Welcome to the website of the Harper group. The group has been pursuing a variety of physical organic chemistry projects in the School of Chemistry at the University of New South Wales for more than 20 years. These studies have included those on ionic liquid solvent effects, novel methods to follow reaction outcome, generation and reactivity of N-heterocyclic carbenes, reactivity of aromatic systems (both planar and non-planar), and the chemistry and efficacy of tribofilms.
You are encouraged to click on the links above where the Publications page gives a history of our projects while the Research Pages indicate where the projects are going now. The people who actually do the work can be found on the Group Members page, which also includes a history of previous members and links to our collaborators.
